내가 꽉 잡고 절대 놓고 있지 않는 게 뭘까?
이번 작업의 시작은 여기서 부터였다.
움켜지고 있던 양 손을 놓았다.
손이 자유로워지고 눈 귀 코 머리. . .
넘치도록 펼치고 지우고, 숨을 고르고
반복하고 반복하고 또 반복하고. . . Jung Hae-kueng
Artist Statement
The starting point of this body of work was a simple yet profound question:
What is it that I have been holding onto so tightly, refusing to let go?
By releasing what I had been clenching in both hands, I allowed my body and
senses- my hands, eyes, ears, nose and mind-to regain their freedom.
From that moment, I began a process of expansion and erasure, of inhaling
and pausing-repeating, again and again.
It is through this rhythm of persistence and relase that the work took form.
